Blood Group Serology

Blood groups for Group A, B, O, and AB,(commonly termed ABO) and Rhesus (Rh) are the two main blood group systems that are screened for every unit of blood collected. Using fully automated instruments with microplate agglutination testing, the ABO, Rh and irregular red cell antibodies typing are confirmed for every donation before transfusion

Blood Banking

Blood banking is the process that takes place in the lab to make sure that donated blood, or blood products, are safe before they are used in blood transfusions and other medical procedures. Blood banking includes typing the blood for transfusion and testing for infectious diseases.

Clinical Microbiology

Sub-specialties within our microbiology laboratory include:

Mycology: For fungal studies and fungal cultures

Virology: For viral screening and diagnostic tests. Examples include infectious mononucleosis screen, cytomegalovirus assay, HIV 1 and 2 diagnostic tests, hepatitis B panel tests, and hepatitis C panel tests.

Parasitology: For analysis of body fluids and specimens to establish the presence or absence of
parasites of health implications. We offer services in the areas of urinalysis, stool analysis, light, and fluorescence
microscopy

Bacteriology: We offer microscopy, culture, and sensitivity tests for all types of body fluids and
swabs using our automated identification and sensitivity machine. We also run special cultures
like fungi culture and blood culture.

Medical Parasitology

This the branch of sciences dealing with parasites which infect humans, the diseases caused by them, clinical picture and the response produced by humans against them. It is also concerned with various methods of their diagnosis, treatment and their prevention & control.

Heamatology

Serology

This investigation is used to identify antibodies and proteins in the body.

The tests include; antibody titration, ABO and Rhesus blood grouping, coomb’s test, hepatitis panel, retroviral syndrome screening, etc.

immunology

Immunology

We use a state of the art immunochemistry analyzer to analyze body fluids to detect antigen-antibody reactions, abnormal rise or fall in body blood components and abnormal production of certain chemicals in the body.

Endocrinology

Endocrinology

This is a sub section of the clinical chemistry laboratory. Tests conducted include; pituitary hormonal assay, reproductive hormonal assay for both male and female, stress hormonal assay, thyroid function test, insulin level, prostate specific antigen and pregnancy tests (serum B HCG and urine B HCG).

Molecular Biology

Molecular Biology

Molecular Biology is the field of biology that studies the composition, structure and interactions of cellular molecules – such as nucleic acids and proteins – that carry out the biological processes essential for the cell’s functions and maintenance

Compehensive health check

Comprehensive Checks

At Labrad, we offer you thorough body scan and checks to verify and recommend Health care status and conditions. Our specialty gives you amazing health-check solution at very affordable prices as obtainable anywhere in the world.

Echocardiogram

Echocardiogram (ECHO)

A non-invasive test where sounds are used to produce images of the heart to show changes in heart chambers, heart-pumping strength, heart valve structures, functionality, and other heart structures and functions.

We provide excellent image quality with an advanced and modern
ultrasound machine.

We offer outstanding and prompt cardiologist review with standard Echocardiography reports.

Transcranial Doppler (TCD)

This type of ultrasound is used to monitor cerebral blood flow and detect any stenotic or occluded intracranial and extracranial vessels in ischemic stroke patients and sickle cell patients between the ages of 2 to 16 years (STOP Study Guidelines).

It is also used to monitor for vasospasm in subarachnoid hemorrhage patients or before and after Ventriculoperitoneal shunting in hydrocephalic patients. With the Spencer ST3 TCD machine, using a 2hz ultrasound probe, we can isolate intracranial and extracranial cerebral arteries (middle cerebral artery, anterior cerebral arteries, vertebral arteries, etc.)

Electroencephalogram (EEG)

Some indications for having an EEG done include: to rule of seizures/epilepsy, to characterize the type of seizure/epilepsy, to localize seizure focus, to determine the best antiepileptic drugs deemed appropriate for patients, and to detect subclinical seizures in critical patients (e.g., brain tumors, stroke, encephalitis).

Our EEG studies are digitally run by a well-trained Neurodiagnostic technologist, with a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and trained according to the U.S. Neurodiagnostic Technology curriculum.

Our EEG results are interpreted by a U.S. board-certified Neurologist and Epileptologist.

Digital X-Ray

Digital X-ray

A form of radiography that captures data during patient examination and immediately transfers it to a computer system without the use of an intermediate cassette. This ensures that the patient
is exposed to less radiation while providing an immediate image preview and availability

Sonogram

A medical test that uses high-frequency sound waves to capture live images from inside the body. Examples include obstetric scan, transvaginal scan, and transrectal scan.

ct-computed-tomography

CT Scan

This includes CT-urogram, CT abdomen, CT brain/skull, CT of the spine, CT chest, CT of the limbs, CT guided studies and CT angiogram.

Arterial/Vascular Doppler Studies

This is an imaging test that uses high-frequency sound waves to measure adequate blood flow through the arteries. The test is used to calculate the velocity of blood flow and to determine the degree of narrowing and blockage in the blood vessels if any.

Examples of tests include the Carotid Doppler test and Upper and Lower limb Doppler test. The tests are administered by a trained vascular Neurologist.
